About Bonus Eagle
An independent eye on the credit card industry.
An editorial site. We evaluate cards the way a private banker would — one at a time, in context, with the reader's interests ahead of our own.
“The comparison sites lost the plot. The card that pays the highest commission becomes “the best.””
Why we exist
A different kind of resource.
Most comparison sites are advertising platforms wearing journalism's clothes. The order rearranges itself based on which issuer pays most that quarter.
Bonus Eagle is editorial first, commercial second. We earn commission when readers apply through our links — but that compensation cannot buy a card a better recommendation. The verdict is written before the payout is reviewed.
How we evaluate
The four questions we ask of every card.
Is the welcome bonus genuinely useful?
Marketing claim vs. real-world cash equivalent. We model transfer-partner redemptions, not headline numbers.
Does the annual fee earn itself back?
We model the fee against realistic usage, not the issuer's best-case scenario.
Are everyday earn rates competitive?
Welcome bonuses are one-time. The earn structure on regular spending matters for ten years.
Would we open this card ourselves?
If no, the card doesn't make our list. No matter the payout.
