Introduction of Everyday Awards with higher caps
United replaced standard awards with “Everyday Awards” effective November 1, 2017. Saver levels remained, but Everyday awards introduced higher maximums that fluctuated with demand (domestic economy up to 32,500 miles versus prior 25,000 standard). Transparency via chart was retained at the time.
What to do: Higher “everyday” ceilings foreshadow full dynamic pricing; prioritize Saver space while it remains published.
