Uber VIP status removed from the $200 Uber Cash benefit

Effective May 7, 2026, Uber VIP status is no longer included with the Platinum and Centurion cards' $200 annual Uber Cash benefit. Uber VIP had given cardholders priority matching with top-rated drivers in eight U.S. markets, including New York City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. It has been replaced by Signature Support for Amex, a phone-based customer service tier with 24/7 live agents accessible through the Uber, Uber Eats, and Postmates apps. The $200 Uber Cash credit itself is unchanged. The change was announced in cardholder notices in late March 2026 and is documented on Uber's help pages.
