Introduction of peak/off-peak pricing and reduced economy earning
British Airways introduced peak and off-peak award pricing effective April 28, 2015, raising many premium-cabin and peak awards while lowering some off-peak economy. Economy earning rates on lower fare classes were sharply reduced (e.g., certain buckets from 100% to 25%).
What to do: Peak/off-peak systems reward flexibility; plan redemptions around off-peak windows when possible.
