Hyatt status, free-night choices, and mile-to-certificate redemptions end with the Hyatt partnership
Hyatt status, free nights, and certificate redemptions via Loyalty Point Rewards → 500 miles per Hyatt stay option only
The enhanced American-Hyatt relationship, announced as ending on September 9, 2026, winds down on the AAdvantage side February 28, 2027. Through that date, members with accounts linked by November 15, 2026 can still earn Hyatt Discoverist and Explorist status and Category 1–4 / 1–7 free nights through Loyalty Point Rewards, and redeem 25,000 or 65,000 miles for Hyatt certificates at the qualifying thresholds. Afterward only the 500-miles-per-stay earning option continues. The Hyatt-side window closes earlier, December 31, 2026.
What to do: Link accounts by November 15; redeem mile-to-certificate awards and select status choices before February 28, 2027.
