United-operated award chart eliminated in favor of dynamic pricing

Effective for travel on or after November 15, 2019 (announced April 2019), United stopped publishing an award chart for its own flights. Award prices began fluctuating based on demand with no published minimums or maximums. Partner charts remained published at the time. Close-in booking fees were also eliminated, but higher dynamic prices often appeared within 30 days of departure. Peak-date and high-demand awards rose above prior chart ceilings.

What to do: Dynamic pricing removes both floors and ceilings; book when a good price appears rather than waiting for “saver” levels that no longer exist.
