Guaranteed 2-cent Points Boost value at The Edit hotels quietly ended

2.0 cents per point (The Edit, guaranteed)up to 2.0 cents (variable; 1.65 documented)

In December 2025, Chase quietly ended the Sapphire Reserve's guaranteed flat 2-cents-per-point Points Boost redemption at hotels in The Edit collection, moving those bookings to variable "up to 2x" pricing without any announcement or cardholder notification. The change was discovered by cardholders in early December 2025 (date approximate), with documented Edit redemptions pricing around 1.65 cents per point even as cash rates fell; Chase's own website language was edited from "worth 2x" to "up to 2x." At launch in mid-2025, the flat 2-cent Edit rate had been marketed as a core replacement for the retired 1.5-cent portal redemption. Chase honored the original double value on bookings made through December 22, 2025, applying point adjustments retroactively, and maintained that variable pricing was always intended.

What to do: Check the actual cents-per-point on every Edit booking rather than assuming double value.
