Limited-time shopping portal bonus points stop counting toward status points

In late July 2026 (date approximate), the terms of Atmos Rewards Shopping's limited-time spending promotions began stating that bonus points do not count toward Atmos Rewards status points, and Alaska Airlines confirmed the policy to Frequent Miler on July 29, 2026. Previously, these promotion bonuses counted toward status at the standard partner rate of 1,000 status points per 3,000 redeemable points, historically worth around 2,000 status points per year to regular portal users. Standard shopping portal earnings still count toward status; only limited-time promotion bonuses are excluded. The change took effect mid-qualification-year without member notification.

What to do: Portal spending still earns status points at the 3,000:1,000 rate — just don't count limited-time bonus points toward a status run.
