Loyalty Point Reward choices trimmed; 30% earning bonus at 100K level eliminated
As of March 1, 2026, American removed several Loyalty Point Reward choices: the 30% Loyalty Point earning bonus at the 100,000-point level, Bang & Olufsen product choices at the 250K, 400K, 550K, and 750K levels, and Flagship First dining pass choices at the 400K–750K levels. New options were added at the same time, including AA Vacations credits and AAdvantage Exchange gifts, and the 60,000-point partner bonus rose from 20% to 25% but gained a cap on additional Loyalty Points earned. The removal of the 100K-level 30% bonus makes upper-tier status harder to reach for members who relied on partner and portal earning. Elite status thresholds themselves were unchanged for 2026.
