New award charts raise long-haul premium cabin prices roughly 12–18%

In late May 2025 (date approximate; documented May 27), Iberia Plus rolled out new peak and off-peak award charts for Iberia-operated flights, briefly publishing then removing them from its website. Long-haul premium cabins rose most: the longest-haul peak business class band increased from 125,000 to 140,000 Avios one-way (roughly 12–18% increases across bands 5–9), premium economy rose about 11–15%, and "Comfort" economy also increased, while the lowest "Basic" economy fares dropped slightly. Iberia Plus receives 1:1 Avios transfers from Chase, American Express, Capital One, and Bilt, and its distance-based chart had been a common lower-surcharge alternative to British Airways for transatlantic redemptions.

What to do: Price Iberia awards in both seasons before transferring; Basic economy remains a relative bright spot.
