Unannounced saver-level award increases averaging over 30%
Through May 2025 (date approximate), United raised saver-level award costs by an average of more than 30% on most routes, on both United and partner flights, without any announcement. The increases were first documented on Europe routes and then spread to Asia-Pacific and other regions. As a chart-less dynamic program, MileagePlus published no notice of the change, which was documented by One Mile at a Time and member reports. This preceded the separate August 2025 benefit cuts and the 2026 earning restructure.
What to do: Treat any reasonable MileagePlus saver price as bookable now; there is no chart floor to wait for.
