American Express statement credit Choice Benefit reduced for Diamond and Platinum Medallions
$700 (Diamond) / $400 (Platinum) → $500 / $250
Effective February 1, 2026 (announced early December 2025), Delta reduced the value of the American Express statement credit option within Medallion Choice Benefits: Diamond members' credit dropped from $700 to $500 and Platinum members' from $400 to $250. The reduction arrived alongside improvements to three other Choice Benefit options (gifting status, bonus miles, and Delta travel vouchers), and Delta's announcement highlighted the improvements without calling out the credit cut. Members who selected the statement credit before February 1, 2026 kept the higher amount, and Delta deposited make-up value by mid-February for members who had already chosen one of the improved options. Medallion qualification thresholds were unchanged for 2026.
What to do: Diamonds and Platinums who want the Amex credit should weigh the improved bonus-mile and voucher options against the reduced credit before selecting.
