Enhanced Hyatt–American Airlines partnership ends; reciprocal Milestone Rewards and Loyalty Point Rewards options wind down
Reciprocal Milestone Rewards / Loyalty Point Rewards choices and status fast tracks → 500 AAdvantage miles per Hyatt stay option only
Announced September 9, 2026, American AAdvantage and World of Hyatt are ending the partnership launched in 2019, scaled back significantly in early 2025. AAdvantage members who link accounts by 11:59:59 p.m. CT on November 15 keep earning Hyatt awards through Loyalty Point Rewards through February 28, 2027; World of Hyatt members linked by the same date keep earning AAdvantage awards through Milestone Rewards through December 31, 2026 — including American Gold and Platinum status, Preferred Seat coupons, and Main Cabin Extra coupons. The 500-AAdvantage-miles-per-stay option continues after the relationship ends. The Hyatt-side end date is used above; the AAdvantage side closes February 28, 2027. World of Hyatt receives transfers from Chase Ultimate Rewards (4:3 from October 1, 2026 on non-Reserve cards) and Bilt.
What to do: Link accounts before November 15; Hyatt elites who want American status or seat coupons should select them from 2026 Milestone Rewards before December 31.
