Partner award chart devaluation
Effective May 30, 2019, British Airways raised Avios requirements on its partner award chart. Short-haul zones saw the largest percentage increases (Zone 1 economy up 33% in many cases). U.S. domestic and short-haul partner flights were particularly affected, though some U.S.-touching short routes retained prior pricing. Long-haul zones rose more modestly.
What to do: Distance-based partner charts can be adjusted zone-by-zone; short-haul sweet spots are often the first targets.
